Silently Trusting God

Leaning on God Even in the Valley Seasons

"Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me." (Psalm 23:4)

Life isn't always sunshine and rainbows; it can be hard and filled with valleys. In those hard times when everything is crashing down and God seems silent, you must remember to trust Him. It can seem impossible, especially if the path ahead is unclear, but if you trust Him, He will guide you. You must continue in faith even if you don't understand because God knows what He's doing for your life and won't deviate from His plan. Even though valley seasons can be trying times in life, there is a reason for them, and when you trust God and follow His plan through these tougher seasons, you will come out victorious.

Times of Uncertainty

Many times in my life, I haven't been able to see what God was doing. After the miscarriage of my 3rd child, I felt like I was in a dark place for a long time. I couldn't see God’s light or feel His joy. All I felt was pain and sorrow.

But even in those times, I knew I had to trust Him. I knew He was still there even though I couldn't feel Him. And I knew that the pain would subside one day, and I would feel His joy again

And sure enough, after some time, I started moving forward again. The pain didn't disappear completely, but it did get easier to bear. And as I continued to lean on God, I started to see His light shining through the darkness that once enveloped me.

During times of uncertainty, it might be hard for you to find the peace that you crave. Admittedly, You can often feel lost and think your dreams seem too far away to be true. But if you turn to the Bible and spend some time reading scriptures such as Philippians 4:13 ("I can do all this through Him who gives me strength"), Jeremiah 29:11 ("For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future"), or John 16:33 ("In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."), you will find comfort in knowing God has a plan specifically for you.

Why You Must Continue in Faith

Putting your trust in God is truly essential, no matter how difficult and uncertain life can be. He always knows what is best for you – sometimes it’s hard to comprehend, but with faith, you know His plan will remain consistent and ultimately bring true victory. Proverbs 3:5-6 puts it beautifully: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” These verses are a gentle yet constant reminder that your way of life should be pointed toward trusting God rather than relying solely on your limited understanding. Remember to have faith in God when things become tough and seemingly unbearable; you are not alone. No matter what valley season you may find yourself in – God is there with a plan for success, propelling you forward day to day for a victorious future.

God Is Good Even When Life Isn't

When life throws you curveballs or knocks you off your feet, it can be hard to remember that God is still good. You don't always know His reasons for things happening the way they do or why certain situations occur the way they do, but you must keep trusting Him because He knows best.

Psalm 34:8 says, "Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him” (NIV). This scripture encourages you to taste His goodness and find refuge in Him when things get tough—even if it doesn’t feel like things are going your way or making sense right now. If you stay rooted in faith despite your circumstances seeming bleak at times, then sooner or later, those good times will return as promised by Romans 8:28, which states, “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God" (NKJV).

Lean on God Daily

Sometimes in your life, it may seem as though God is silent, leaving you to wonder whether you've been forgotten or abandoned by Him. During these valley seasons, it can be tempting to distance yourself and stop seeking His guidance and wisdom. However, dear Sis, in those challenging times, you must lean on God even when He seems silent and trust that He will uphold you.

You reaffirm your faith in His divine plan by living out His purpose, even during struggle and uncertainty. Remember, God works for your good (Romans 8:28), transforming you and your heart so that you can be used for the ultimate expression of His glory. Never lose sight of that simple truth; let it give you the strength to keep pushing forward in faith.

So if you find yourself in a tough place and it appears God isn't doing anything, take heart! Trust that the Lord knows what He is doing and will bring you through victoriously. You don't have to try and muddle through on your own. Place your trust firmly in His loving hands while asking Him to give you the courage and faith you need to get through this season - because He will surely come through! Lean on Him daily, praying continually, trusting every step that He guides you towards reflecting His glory in all circumstances.

Your Sis in Christ,
